Fairway at Nuwara Eliya Golf Club with the hills of tea country behind

Golf in the hill country.Rest by the Indian Ocean.

Golf and wellness journeys to Sri Lanka, planned in England by people who know the island well, and looked after on the ground from the moment you land.

A day on the island

First tee in the mist

Tea country is cool before breakfast. The fairways are still wet and you have the course to yourself.

Down through the tea

Lunch on a planter's veranda, then a slow drive through the estates while the heat rises off the valleys.

An afternoon in good hands

Your Ayurvedic treatment, a swim, and an hour with nothing to do. Your driver has the evening off too.

Sundown on the Indian Ocean

Dinner on the sand as the light goes. Tomorrow, another course or another slow day. Your choice.

Four courses, one island

Land in Colombo and work inland to the hills, then down to the south coast. We plan rounds around the light, so you tee off in the cool of the morning.

One of the oldest clubs outside Britain, with the Kelani Valley railway running straight across the course. A gentle first round to shake off the flight.

Fairways folded into the hills above the reservoir, with the Knuckles range behind. Many golfers call it the most beautiful round in South Asia.

Cool mornings, cypress-lined fairways and mist lifting off the tea estates. The ball flies further up here, which nobody complains about.

Retreats that slow the whole trip down

Wellness here isn’t a spa menu. Sri Lanka has its own Ayurvedic hospitals and a long tradition of physicians who train for years. We work with retreats that take it seriously.

Ayurveda

Your stay begins with a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, who sets the treatments, herbal remedies and meals for the days ahead.

Seven nights is the least we'd suggest. Fourteen is where people tell us it starts to show.

Yoga practice by the sea at sunrise

Yoga and breath

Sunrise sessions facing the sea in small groups, with teachers who adapt to first-timers and to golfers' backs alike.

Pair it with a golf week, or make it the whole trip.

Mist over tea plantations in Sri Lanka's hill country

Tea-country stillness

A planter's bungalow above the estates, walking trails through the tea, and nothing on the schedule after lunch.

The quietest days of the trip are usually the ones people remember.

Fourteen nights, three landscapes

A sample of how a golf and wellness trip comes together. Yours will be built around your dates, your game and how much rest you want.

  1. Nights 1–2

    Colombo

Met at the airport and driven to a colonial-era hotel by the sea. A late round at Royal Colombo once you've slept.

    Colombo
  2. Nights 3–5

    Kandy and Victoria

Two rounds above the Victoria reservoir, an evening at the Temple of the Tooth, and dinner by Kandy lake.

    Kandy and Victoria
  3. Nights 6–8

    Nuwara Eliya

Golf in the cool air of tea country, a morning in a working tea factory, then the hill-country train to Ella.

    Nuwara Eliya
  4. Nights 9–14

    The south coast

Six nights at an Ayurvedic retreat near Galle. Treatments each morning, the old fort at sunset, and the ocean for everything else.

When to go

Sri Lanka has two monsoons that arrive at different times on different coasts, so somewhere on the island is almost always at its best.
